DRINKS WITH DARREN CLARKE
Each year thousands of fans pour through the gates of Calgary’s Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club to catch some of the greatest names on the PGA TOUR Champions battle for the Shaw Charity Classic title.
In an effort to further connect the community with the greatest names in the game, Chris and the Shaw Charity Classic Team brought the new star of golf’s senior golf circuit to the downtown core to raise a pint and share some laughs with British Open champion, Darren Clarke.
One of golf’s most colourful characters from Northern Ireland hosted an Irish Pub Night during Shaw Charity Classic week where he taught locals how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness before participating in an Open Mic bar side chat with national sports media personality, Eric Francis.
The event was sold out within hours of being released, generated significant media attention, attracted additional sponsorship for the Tournament, and most importantly of all, contributed to the Shaw Charity Classic’s mission of raising money for youth-based charities in Alberta.
